Largest Diversity Career Fair in Philadelphia with over 80 companies

Philadelphia, PA - On Thursday, October 12, 2006, jobseekers in the Philadelphia region will have an opportunity to meet with over 80 companies as JobCircle.com, in partnership with the Urban League of Philadelphia, host the Celebrate Diversity! Philadelphia Career Fair at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, 260 S. Broad Street. Leading employers in the Delaware Valley will be recruiting candidates for positions from entry-level through management, in a wide-range of industries including: accounting, customer service, marketing, retail, hospitality, finance, technology, sales, healthcare, and more.

For the first time, The Urban League of Philadelphia has partnered with JobCircle.com to help candidates in the Greater Philadelphia area secure career opportunities. "We are pleased to partner with JobCircle.com for the Diversity Career Fair.  For nearly 90 years, the Urban League has been building alliances and creating opportunities that foster economic advancement for African-Americans, and others, in the Philadelphia region. This partnership falls in line with our mission of empowering communities and changing lives." said Patricia A. Coulter, President & CEO of The Urban League of Philadelphia.

"This event stresses the ideals of inclusion and cooperation to create a more effective and dynamic workforce.  We invite candidates from all races, religions and ethnic backgrounds to participate; by doing so, we create a talented and diverse pool of workers for employers to choose from," says Marisa Early, Director of Recruitment Events.  Special consideration is taken to advertise extensively in minority publications like Al Dia, Philadelphia's Hispanic newspaper, and Philadelphia Tribune, Philadelphia's largest African-American newspaper, and with radio stations with a high minority reach.  The result is a unique mix of professional talent.

The Celebrate Diversity! Career Fair is free of charge and includes career workshops every hour from 10:30am until 2:30pm. Speakers include representatives from Lee Hecht Harrison, Right Management, Wyeth Pharmaceuticals, The Urban League of Philadelphia and Ajilon. Jobseekers are asked to dress professionally and to bring copies of their resume.  PA CareerLink representatives will be on hand to reach out to jobseekers to help promote the state's career services as well.
