JobCircle.com Presents award to two local charities
JobCircle.com honors organizations that demonstrate commitment
to helping jobseekers gain employment
Philadelphia, PA. - JobCircle.com selects The Career Wardrobe and The Honickman Learning Center as the recipients of JobCircle's Empowerment Award. This award was created to honor local organizations that are committed to helping job candidates gain employment through educational initiatives, thus empowering them to move forward in their careers. The establishment of this award resulted from a partnership between JobCircle.com and The Urban League of Philadelphia, who partner each year to host the Celebrate Diversity! Career Fairs at the Kimmel Center. These career fairs help to connect employers with diversity candidates.
The Career Wardrobe and The Honickman Learning Center will each receive $500. "We hope that these donations will help jobseekers become the high-quality candidates that area companies are looking for," said Marisa Cogan, Director of Recruitment Events for JobCircle.com. "These organizations are making a difference in the community by helping jobseekers increase their value in the workplace and we just wanted to thank them." The next Celebrate Diversity! Career Fair will take place on October 16th at The Kimmel Center, where another organization will be selected to receive the Empowerment Award.
The Career Wardrobe is a non-profit group that serves thousands of women throughout the Delaware Valley by providing free interview clothing and support services. Their services empower women who are transitioning from welfare to work or beginning a life free from domestic violence by inspiring the confidence necessary to achieve self-sufficiency.
The second organization, The Honickman Learning Center in North Philadelphia, focuses on the integration of technology with art, education and enterprise. Programs are tailored to help the residents of the community move towards greater prosperity by increasing their educational and employment opportunities through comprehensive technology and literacy instruction. The Center, equipped with 255 computers and Smart Boards in every classroom, promotes interactive learning and offers a cutting-edge educational technology environment.
