False Positive Alert

Medicines and herbs that can cause one to get a false positive on a drug test:

Marijuana:

Over-the-counter NSAIDS (non-steroid anti-inflammatory drugs) such as Ibuprofen, Advil, Nuprin and Pamprin.

Prescription NSAIDS such as anaprox, Tolectin, ifenoprofen, Lodine, Motrin.

Amphetamines

Over the counter remedies that contain ephedrine, psudoephedrine, propylephrine, or desoxyephedrine. These medications include Nyquil, Contac, Sudafed, Allerest 12 hour, Tylenol Sinus Gelcaps, Vicks inhaler.

Depronil, a prescription drug used to treat Parkinson's disease.

Cocaine:

Prescription antibiotic Amoxicillin.

Opiates:

Emprin, Tylenol with codeine, rifampicin, presection with vicodin, Percodan, percoce, wygesic

Poppy seeds.

Barbituates:

Fiorinall for tension headaches or Phenobarbital, Dilantin

Benzodiazepines

Most prescription sleeping pills and anti-anxiety medications
