The Accelerated Degree Completion Program in Information Systems
Qualified applicants will have basic computer literacy including knowledge of e-mail, the Internet and the World Wide Web, and Microsoft Office. Basic proficiency in C++, good problem solving and analytical skills and five years of work experience are required. Two years of approved college coursework and a personal interview are also necessary to satisfy entrance to the program.
Students will enter with a group of 15 to 20 students and work individually and in teams on projects, problems and presentations to gain competency in the information systems field. This cohort or team model meets the challenges of adult students by combining theory and practice in a way that maximizes classroom learning and experiential learning. The teams stay together throughout the program and graduate at the same time. Working in teams, learning leadership and followership, gaining experience in consensus decision making and problem solving are tasks which degree completion students must master as they move through their coursework. Presentation and project management assignments challenge adult students to higher levels of mastery and performance to qualify them for the most challenging and competitive work environment.
