This position is directly responsible for cost/inventory accounting, annual budget, semiannual forecast updates, fixed asset records and control/capital expenditures reporting. Also responsible for the monthly close of cost and inventory records, fixed assets and special projects. Prepares and maintains the annual cost standards for inventory and product line profitability. Provides analysis for budget of cost and margin changes (forecast to budget, year to year changes). Prepares ad hoc business analysis as required in support of new business initiatives. Responsible for the implementation and hands-on development of cost accounting, forecasting and budgeting systems. Handles the ongoing development of inventory, cost accounting, scrap and manufacturing variance reports. Supports controller in developing controls and policies/procedures in inventory/cost accounting areas. Prepares monthly operations reports and provide supporting schedules and narrative to the monthly financial package. Provides cost of production analysis and inventory analysis for reporting package. Responsible for inventory standard to actual adjustment. Responsible for review and analysis of inventory reserves for scrap, slow/obsolete and book to physical. Reviews and analyzes monthly manufacturing shop floor activity. Maintains up-to-date fixed asset records for book and tax depreciation and insurance, budgeting and tax return purposes. Coordinates and prepare the annual budget. Coordinates and prepares the three-year plan update. Coordinates and prepares the semi-annual forecast update. Education & Related Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred; 5+ years general accounting experience, 5+ years manufacturing accounting experience. Special Skills, Training or Certification: Excellent computer skills required including proficiency with ORACLE, Excel, Word and Power Point, high level of understanding of manufacturing systems, understanding of general accounting and GAAP, accounting and financial analytical skills, excellent communication and people skills.
