Contract to Hire Opportunity for a Storage Engineer.
Candidates must be available for permanent placement.

The Storage Engineer will have responsibilities for all aspects of the enterprise tiered storage infrastructure including file services, SAN fabric, array administration, storage provisioning, DR replication, backup and recovery architecture, capacity management, data migration and information lifecycle management integration.
Requirements
Storage array and SAN fabric management of EMC Symmetrix, CLARiiON and HP EVA arrays with EMC Control Center, TimeFinder, SRDF, Navisphere, SnapView and HP/CommandView.
Manage SAN directors, map zone and mask LUN from arrays to servers while maintaining a highly available redundant architecture leveraging multiple fabrics and path redundancy.
Monitor and manage the enterprise ticketing and change management queue for all storage provisioning -- including SAN fabric zoning and masking and NAS (CIFS/NFS) allocations.
Manage and maintain all aspects of storage replication between data centers for disaster recoverability.
Manage Celerra NAS hosting CIFS and NFS shares; maintain cross site replication and NDMP backups
Participate in IT project planning for new initiatives, migrations, upgrades and re-architecture.
The Storage Engineer will be responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of hardware, firmware and software upgrades to arrays, switches, host bus adapters, drivers, client agents and management software such as Control Center, Connectrix Manager, Solutions Enabler, PowerPath
Documentation of process and procedures utilizing best practices including the creation and maintenance of supporting detailed infrastructure diagrams
Other Required Job Duties
Periodic detailed reporting of storage and fabric capacity and utilization.
Integrate advanced array snapshot capabilities with the enterprise database and backup/recovery infrastructure.
The Storage Engineer will serve as member of a multi-disciplinary Infrastructure Domain Team
Submit weekly base/project level time tracking and status reports
Skill Level and Proficiency Preferred
The qualified candidate should possess strong analytic and communication skills. He/she should have a solid understanding of vendor storage hardware architecture, high availability design, fabric topologies, storage and networking protocols and RAID levels. Server and storage array based I/O performance analysis and troubleshooting skills are desired. Host based volume management and file system tuning skills will be considered a plus.
Knowledge of and adherence to ITIL and PMI best practices
Project level planning and implementation experience
Experience with the management of EMC Symmetrix, CLARiiON and Celerra storage and NAS arrays using EMC Control Center and Navisphere and HP StorageWorks EVA with CommandView
Proficiency with the UNIX/Linux and MS Windows command line tools and shell scripting
Experience with enterprise backup and recovery software suite such as Symantec NetBackup
