We are currently seeking a Medical Writer who will write technical communications and materials in the area of Chemistry Manufacturing & Controls. Communications include labeling, investigator brochures, and journals. Plan and prepare a variety of clinical documents (clinical study reports, investigator's brochures, etc.) by organizing, analyzing, and interpreting scientific and statistical data. Prepare integrated summary documents for regulatory submissions. Participate in study teams, coordinate and conduct document-related meetings including the preparation of a pre-meeting agenda and post-meeting minutes. Review protocols, clinical data reports, and case report forms as required.
The Medical Writer participates as a member of the Translational Science team and serves as team specialist in matters pertaining to clinical research and writing.
With guidance from the Director of Translational Science, the writer will conduct research, typically online, to gather information on the current standards of patient care for various areas of oncology. The writer will also assist in the preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, posters, power point presentations and review articles, as needed, for submission to peer-reviewed journals and scientific meetings.
He/she will assure that the final product meets the journal or meeting requirements for submission and will occasionally interact with key clinicians using corporate products or participating in company-sponsored studies. The writer will review and edit documents for organization, clarity, use of English language/grammar, and scientific standards and will resolve errors and inconsistencies.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of a Master's degree in a biological science or pharmacy (advanced degree preferred)
Minimum of three years of experience in medical writing for a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or contract research company/university medical center
Minimum of 2 years working in oncology or pathology; breast cancer field or histological pathology preferred
Must demonstrate a clear, high quality scientific writing style in the English language, and have the ability to independently analyze and synthesize data from a broad range of disciplines.
Must be able to research and review clinical content effectively and translate information into clear and concise messages.
Must be organized, have the ability to successfully manage multiple projects from conception to completion, be able to work in a team environment, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is essential.
Evidence of professional development in medical writing or editing (such as AMWA or BELS certification) a plus.
