Network Architect/Engineer

Subcontractor responsibilities:

a)                  Subject Matter Expert (SME) Support - General technical assistance to aid Cisco Customer with Cisco 6513 and AS 5580 products and technology. The skill set or capabilities of the personnel providing assistance to Cisco Customer under this service is as follows: 

b)                  Report to and take direction from Cisco or Cisco Customer in regards to Design, configuration and test plan of the aforementioned equipment.

c)                  Perform duties as assigned by Cisco or Cisco Customer with minimum supervision.

d)                  Duties may include:

·        Subscriber from/to Load Balancer design
·        Load Balancer from/to Web Servers design
·        Load Balancer from/to Application Servers
·        IMD from/to Media Server design
·        Subscriber from/to IMD design
·        IMD IAC from/to IMD VHO Distribution design
·        Management design
Firewall (Configuration/Policy/Logging)

Router/ Load Balancer (Configuration/ Policy/ Logging)

Servers (Configuration/ Policy/ Logging)

·        Authoring of Security design and configuration  consisting of the following:

§        Cluster Configuration

§        Connectivity (Logical/Physical)

§        Active/Standby with Session Failover

§        Centralized Firewall Management

§        Security Zones (Trusted and Untrusted)

§        Firewall Contexts (Virtual Firewalls)

§        Administrative

§        TACACS+

·        Develop Input and Audit of the QoS design as applied to the following:
§        Service Levels
§        Production

§        Staging

§        Management

§        Classification/Marking/ Scheduling

§        Queue Definitions

§        LAN

§        WAN     



·        Authoring of Load Balancing design and configuration consisting of the following:

§        Configuration

§        One Armed vs. Routed Mode

§        Virtual Context for Traffic Separation

§        Trunking and Addressing

§        Health Checks

§        Internal Servers

§        External Devices (Ex. Accuweather)



·        Authoring of Routing design consisting of the following:

§        LAN

§        OSPF

§        WAN

§        BGP Load Balanced or Active/Standby

§        Policy Based Routing

§        VRFs

§        Firewall Routing Participation



·        Cisco shall provide the following deliverables:

§        Input information  and Audit Review of Reference Architecture document (HLD)

§        End to End Flows repository document

§        Security Design document

§        Load balancing Design document

§        Routing Design document

§        QoS Design Input and Audit results
