Lotus Notes Support/ Admin (CJ)

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is primarily responsible for handling support issues in the Notes area and for monitoring the system to ensure its continued stability and health. As such, excellent customer service and the ability to multitask successfully are essential. You must be able to quickly identify the root-cause of problems and identify opportunities for improvements to prevent such problems in the future. In an environment where the American hub servers alone route over 100,000 e-mails a day, it is essential that a calm and methodical approach be taken to all problem solving.
The EUT teams are generally involved with leading technologies and this role provides good opportunities for getting involved with Notes, the Internet and mobile devices. In these fast moving areas, you must be able to learn new technologies and become an expert in them very quickly.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provide operational tier3 support for Notes infrastructure
• Manage issues via our Magic problem management system
• Provide solutions for GTS Tier1, Tier2 support.
• Solve problems escalated by Magic in a timely manner and ensure solutions provide a permanent fix
• Proactively monitor the system with the intent of fixing issues before they become problems
• Be a source of expert advice and knowledge to members of GTS and other teams
• Work closely with sites teams to help them maintain their servers. Help them to capacity plan and ensure they are aware of any potential issues
• Work closely with counterparts in the other regions. Ensure the system is working at its optimum from a global perspective

EDUCATION, PRIOR WORK EXPERIENCE, AND SPECIALIZED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent technical qualification
• 2 - 5 years in a Lotus Notes Technical role
• Demonstrated knowledge/use of Lotus Notes Administrative Tools
• Demonstrated knowledge in mail routing topology/tracing
• Demonstrated knowledge in SPAM solutions ( Postini experience a plus )
• 2 - 5 years in Windows NT/2003 / Virtual Server
• Able to operate in an environment with constantly changing priorities
• Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to function effectively as part of a team
• Ability to influence people at all levels.
