Entry-Level CAD Opening Location: Horsham, PA 19044
Description: Provide support to CAD users from multiple Engineering disciplines (architecture, electrical, mechanical, planning) and multiple offices (in-house and contractors) to produce drawings compliant with CAD Standards though consultation and reporting using automated and manual CAD compliance checks. Additional duties will involve cataloging, sorting, cleaning up, importing, and locating AutoCAD drawings, raster drawings, and related data in the electronic document management system (EDMS).
Primary Essential Skills: • Working knowledge in CAD software, specifically AutoCAD, is essential. Familiarity with version AutoCad LT 2004 R14 or later is preferred. • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a focus on customer satisfaction. • Familiarity with use of Windows and Microsoft Office.
Additional skills / experience: • Assisting users locate and retrieve the files they are looking for • Training users on a one to one basis • Troubleshooting applications • Ability to work well in teams
Experience / skills that are a plus: • Basic use / maintenance / troubleshooting of scanners and plotters • Experience in production and conventions of Broadband Networks Engineering Drawings • Updating floor plans • Running automated and manual CAD standard compliance checks • Running automated and manual CAD drawing cleanup routines • Participation in revising, implementing, and maintaining CAD standards • Running various types of batch jobs
Software / Programming skills that are a plus: • Familiarity with a variety of raster formats • Adobe Photoshop • Adobe Distiller • Autodesk Raster Design • DOS (for data mining / cleanup) • AutoLISP • VLAX (Visual LISP Active X) • VB for AutoCAD (Visual Basic) • SQL • Familiarity with Documentum or other EDMS • Familiarity with FIS, especially FDC, or other CAFM software • Familiarity with GIS software
