The Business Analyst successfully coordinates project components by utilizing numerous techniques to strategically direct, question and analyze the business requirements and project deliverables. This person is accountable to the Project Manager for the coordination and communication required to bring the project in on time and within the established budget as well as perform the business analysis efforts associated with the project. In addition, the Business Analyst will be relied upon to act as a lead analyst on many projects, which involves being able to account for all analyst tasks including delegation of assignments to other business analysts.
The Business Analyst works with the business stakeholders, participates in the decision making process with all levels of staff and management, communicates with business area management, and makes recommendations to effect positive change.
This is a full time position.
Knowledge Skills and Education Required:
• Insurance knowledge is required (Property & Casualty). • Large web based system development experience in the P&C field is a plus. • Minimum seven years of business experience working in or with an I.T. organization in system, programming, or project development efforts. • Previous successful performance in the Business Analyst role for multiple projects. • Four year degree or equivalent work experience • Ability to plan, execute and control a project deliverables, establishing realistic estimates and reporting metrics. • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to plan, organize, delegate and control work. • Working knowledge of MS Project is helpful. • Technical background needed; prior design or coding experience helpful. • Relational Database knowledge required. • Being able to read and write simple DB queries (SQL or Hyperion) • Develop and execute formal test plans, use cases, and test data • Excellent skills as a communicator and facilitator, both written and oral, excellent presentation skills
Additional Details and Responsibilities: • Will support business areas by means of research, analysis, testing, documentation and training of larger and more complex systems and or procedures. • Will participate fully in the project development process, contributing to the requirements gathering, development, enhancement and maintenance of PRC, external vendor and personal computer systems. • Document and report all project issues, ensure issue closure, and track project progress in order to meet major project milestones and ensure deliverable quality. Organize and file all project administrative project documentation. • Define system workflow and processing, becoming knowledgeable of insurance agent work processes and information requirements. • Occasional after hours support may be required Please refer to job code jas when responding to this ad.
