This position is accountable for the design and development of digital electronic hardware and VHDL firmware in support of ground, sea and airborne-based RF and microwave Electronic Warfare sub-systems.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Apply engineering principles, theories, concepts and disciplines to meet project requirements. * Support entire life cycle of programs including new business capture, preliminary and detail design, fabrication, integration and test, manufacturing and customer support. * Assist in defining sub-system requirements and architectures, to include, preparing bids and proposals, plan and lead projects utilizing cross-functional teams. * Perform circuit designs and analysis, develop, code and simulate programmable devices, lead printed circuit board designs, document designs, select and procure components, provide direction to manufacturing in assembly of first printed circuit board assemblies, test and debug first assemblies, integrate and test with embedded software or in sub-systems. * Technical presentations to Customers and working with Customers in labs and in the field. * Addressing Production issues including parts procurement, assembly and electrical performance.
Must have the following: * BSEE or equivalent and minimum 8 years relevant experience * Digital circuit design and analysis experience * Engineering Lead experience on a new design project * VHDL firmware code generation and simulation experience * Hardware integration, test and debug experience * Proficiency in current Computer Aided Engineering tools * Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and presentation skills * Experience managing budgets and schedules * Experience designing for stringent environments * Eligibility to obtain government-issued Security clearance to the Secret Level
Prefer the following: * Military product design experience * Embedded software development experience * Familiarity with DSP algorithm development and/or implementation * Familiarity with RF/microwave transmitter and receiver systems * Active Security clearance * Experience supporting new business development and proposals * Active member of IEEE or other professional organization * Earned Value Measurement System knowledge or experience
