Apply for this job: Your application choices are: * Apply for this jobonline * Refer a friend to this job More information about this job: Overview: The Mental Health Associate assists case managers/group therapists and registered nurses in providing direct care to patients and performs various duties as assigned on the Inpatient Care Unit. The Mental Health Associate participates as a member of the treatment team in creating and maintaining a therapeutic milieu, and in providing support to the patient. The Mental Health Associate provides family members and significant others with an opportunity to participate in the admission and assessment process, and to receive needed information.

Responsibilities: Participate in the development and implementation of the multidisciplinary treatment plan. Demonstrate competency in the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet the psychological and social needs for the patient population. Conduct group interventions under the guidance and direction of the case manager. Document each treatment session in accordance with Princeton House documentation policies. Maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu by enforcing program rules, regulations and limits. Attend daily treatment rounds, providing input to and being receptive to input from other members of the treatment team. Identify significant changes in patients’ clinical status and communicate to appropriate member(s) of the treatment team.

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in social sciences or related specialization required. Experience working in an inpatient behavioral health setting is preferred. Excellent customer service skills.
