Sr. Perl Developer

CSS Tec currently has a client in West Chester, PA that is looking to hire a Sr. Perl Developer.  This is slated as a 6 month to 1 year contract.

Job Description:
Primary responsibilities as Senior Perl designer and developer for e-business development team performing the following functions:

- Designing and developing mod/CGI Perl Web applications, including participation in formal design process & design reviews
- Work with business analysts and clients to collaborate on software requirements
- Provide detailed estimates for development, unit testing
- Perform development tasks, including: application architecture, data modeling, object modeling, interface design, development, and unit and integration testing.
-  Participate in the on-going maintenance, support, trouble-shooting, and integration of developed applications.
- Experience designing, developing and support PL/SQL and stored procedures in Oracle
- Experience designing and developing Web applications in Java
- Experience with Apache, Tomcat, JBoss
- Experience working on customer facing web applications a plus, but not required
-  Perform related work as required.

Job Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of five years of Web development experience in a software development role with experience in formal software design processes

Qualifications include:
- Professional design and development experience with Mod/CGI Perl, SOAP, XML, HTML, JavaScript, PL/SQL
- Experience in Java web development a plus but not required. 
- Experience designing and developing services for a Service Oriented Architecture a plus
- Must be strong in the following: UML, data modeling, design patterns, data modeling, highly scalable application design
- Experience developing applications on JBoss or Apache
- Experience developing applications in a linux environment required
- Strong experience in creating software design using formal design process
- Strong knowledge of databases and structured data.
- Requires a team-oriented individual who demonstrates initiative and leadership skills
- Must have excellent analytical skills, problem solving abilities, and the ability to quickly learn new technologies
- Able to work independently
- Good communication skills
- Project management skills helpful
- Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience required

Basic leadership experience a plus.
