Process Engineer

Location: Annapolis Junction, MD (primary) with Colorado Springs, CO as a travel site

Must be a US Citizen with active Secret Clearance


General Description:

The candidate will initiate and implement enterprise-wide mission process improvement activities. The candidate will be responsible for analyzing, developing, deploying and optimizing processes and procedures to meet enterprise performance goals. The candidate will implement the necessary tools to support process implementation and work product development.

The candidate will develop metrics and evaluate performance criteria to ensure compliance with program standards. The candidate will identify metrics being to be collected and ensure that measurement data is up to date and reported accurately. The candidate support process audits, review audit findings and identify corrective actions.

The candidate will interface with both government and contractor personnel at multiple sites to accomplish these objectives.


Responsibilities:

· Analyze processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
· Work with stakeholders to define efficient processes that incorporate industry “best practices” and standards to improve efficiency and better meet customer requirements.
· Create and maintain process-related artifacts.
· Benchmark internal and external “best practices” and incorporate them into processes and procedures enterprise-wide.
· Serve as the subject matter expert on process design, ITIL and CMMI compliance, quality, productivity, risk management and sustainability.
· Support auditors in performing process assessments and impact analyses.
· Reduce program risk by identifying and measuring key performance indicators for project success.
· Lead efforts for measurement and analysis and quantitative project management.
· Initiate and lead Six Sigma projects to reduce rework and defects.


Experience:

· Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years process engineering experience
· Bachelors degree or equivalent and 5+ years of experience deploying and institutionalizing industry standard process.
· Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) V3 certification required, and SEI CMMI experience a plus.
· Experience implementing ITIL in a large network operation environment.
· Six Sigma Certification is a plus

Technical Skills:

· Experience and training in Lean Six Sigma and Lean Management, ITIL, CMMI, and general quality assurance and process improvement methodologies
· Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to lead and manage collaborative matrix teams are required.
