Senior Business Systems Analyst (PowerDesigner)Posted: November 2, 2009
The ideal candidates filling this Senior Business Systems Analyst position will be responsible for working with internal and external business partners to identify, analyze and document requirements to develop new features needed for the application. The candidates will also be responsible to work with various internal groups like development teams, software test teams and others to make sure that agreed upon solution is documented and delivered to end users. The candidates will also be involved in documenting changes to existing documentation to help modify existing features of the application. Candidates will have to follow ’s newly rolled out SDLC process and will be documenting functional requirements, technical requirements, non functional requirements, implementation details and test conditions documents.
The candidate(s) must be an expert in using POWER DESIGNER tool for documentation. Candidates must also have working experience in using MS Visio or similar tools to document use cases and deployment models. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in writing basic database queries to validate date in Oracle 10g database. Candidates must also be an expert in using MS Office tools like MS Word, MS Excel, MS Power Point. Candidates showing familiarity with JAVA/J2EE technologies and are able to read JAVA/J2EE, SPRING, JSP’s, XML and HIBERNATE code will be given preference and is a definite plus. Travel to the San Antonio Office may be required.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
1. Power Designer is a MUST.
2. Ability to understand and read JAVA, J2EE, SPRING, HIBERNATE CODE REQUIRED.
3. Ability to create database queries for Oracle 10g and run it using TOAD or SQL QUERY is REQUIRED.
4. Very Good communications skills required. (Writing and Oral skills)
5. MS Office (WORD, EXCEL, PP and MS Visio) working knowledge a must.
6. Travel to San Antonio office may be required.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
1. Participating in design/architecture meetings to document design decisions and to cross check with requirements.
2. Applying industry standard analysis, documentation techniques, including Use Cases where appropriate, to assist in providing optimum solutions.
3. Systems Analysis Efforts – Document Functional Requirements, Technical Specifications/Requirements, Test Conditions document, Non-Functional Requirements where applicable. Modify Business requirements if required. Perform unit testing and document results. Demonstrate strong problem solving ability, logic, and analytical skills.
4. Interact with other areas
5. Strong written and oral communication skills are a must.
6. Maintaining team spirit and a positive attitude.
7. Performing comprehensive preliminary testing and producing all entrance criteria documentation required to promote products under development to Software Test (SQA).
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidates must have at least 6 - 8 years of progressively diverse systems analysis, documentation and testing experience using Web and XML technologies. The person must demonstrate strong knowledge and experience with the responsibilities outlined above. The candidates must have significant experience with technologies listed above.
1. Experience with Sybase Power Designer tool for documentation.
2. Experience with MS Visio and similar tools to document deployment diagrams and use cases.
3. Familiarity in web technologies such as XHTML, DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Apache, AJAX, Hibernate and SOAP.
4. Familiarity and Experience with XML.
5. Experience in reading object oriented application code developed using Java/J2EE technologies.
6. Experience in cross browser testing.
7. Familiarity with pure J2EE and Java technologies is must.
Good interpersonal skills in order to interact with clients, technical staff, and third parties.

EDUCATION:
The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree, with coursework in the information processing or business-related curricula, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is necessary.
