Title:Sr. Market Research Analyst Location:Madison, NJ Length:Perm Rate:DOE
Basic Purpose: Work with cross-functional team of analysts, medical doctors, business leaders, communications, and IT to develop analytical, data-driven reports and statistical models identifying important trends linking diagnostic testing to health care treatment.
Develop and continuously improve sales and marketing effectiveness strategies, including targeting, marketing mix, and sales force size & structure. This function will support multiple lines of business.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support secondary research needs using a variety of information sources (e.g., web searches, medical literature searches) and syndicated data (e.g., Pharmetrics, IMS, Verispan). Understand each source*s applications and limitations, and effectively apply data resources to projects. Summarize secondary data, critically evaluating information and deriving useful insights
Use strong quantitative and analytic abilities to integrate and analyze large data sets
Develop and streamline data processing algorithms that transform non-standard data into uniform structure required for robust analysis
Identify meaningful patterns in laboratory test results using data mining, clustering, and pattern recognition techniques
Design and implement statistical and mathematical models demonstrating the value of diagnostic testing in treatment across a wide variety of disease states
Write reports and develop presentation materials communicating complex research methodologies and findings to technical and non-technical audiences
Qualifications: Education: M.S. or Ph.D. in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Work Experience: 2+ years experience performing advanced statistical analysis and data mining , preferably in healthcare industry.
Computer Skills: Statistical and/or mathematical programming languages such as SAS, MATLAB / R, SPSS etc.
SQL & relational databases such as Oracle
Experience with graphical/GIS and/or data visualization software is preferred, but not required.
Other: Familiarity with medical records databases, medical data standards and terminologies.
Some travel may be required (less than 10%, will be local)
Effective oral and written communication skills
