Contract opportunity for an Senior ETL Developer in Philadelphia, PA

Major Duties:

• Create and maintain data architecture designs to increase robustness, performance, and scalability
• Design and build efficient SQL queries, analyze query cost comparison, use indexes efficiently
• Work with internal customers to identify requirements for ETL processes
• Design and build ETL for various data structures including data marts, data warehouses, flat files, and OLTP sources.
• Implement ETL and database design best practices to ensure quality-focused and enduring data management solutions.
• Enforce database related standards and procedures set by Information Architect
• Make recommendations for the design and development of the data layer while contributing to system architecture
• Establish and maintain knowledge of the Informatica ETL platform and associated processes.
• Build and implement physical design structures adhering to data architecture standards
• Assist in establishing coding standards for stored procedures, triggers, logical and physical schema design
• Assist in establishing standards for coding, naming, data access and documentation
• Assist in building  ETL standards including tools, methods and documentation
• Ensure data quality and integrity across data specific Application implementations
• Define data archive and purge standards
• Tune SQL queries and database performance for OLTP and DSS applications within the development environment
• Participate in design and code reviews, documentation of design, implementation of methodologies to ensure quality
• Assist in managing data-focused projects
• Provide technical leadership to other support team members and resolution of technical issues
• Assist in performance tuning, design, and best practices
• Provide recommendations on performance enhancements in pre-production and production environments
• Provide recommendations on database index strategies based on performance metrics
• Own and support data-centric applications

Minimum Qualifications

o Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
o Minimum of 5 years database development experience in SQL Server 2000 or higher and Oracle 10G
o Expert knowledge of SQL
o Strong knowledge of database architecture including physical and logical design, performance tuning techniques, and SQL best practices
o Proven track record in building and operating highly scalable/performing/24x7 database applications
o Usage of ETL tools such as SSIS and Informatica
o Expert on DBMS software with distinguished achievements on database query optimization
o Experience using Transact-SQL and PL/SQL scripting languages
o Experience developing and implementing Data Transformation Services (DTS) packages
o Experience using Query Analyzer, SQL Plus, SQL Server Profiler, and Execution Plan
o Strong written and verbal communications skills
o Strong technical leadership skills with extensive hands on experience
o Proven strong innovative and analytical ability with extensive implementation skills
o Project management skills are a plus
o Must be organized, proactive, detail-oriented, self-motivated, disciplined, professional, and a team player
