We are currently seeking a Biomedical Engineer who will be responsible for characterization and test method development activities to ensure seamless interaction with other design elements resulting in successful Design Verification and Design Validation completion. Must have knowledge of in-vitro product performance testing and the relevance to in-vivo testing. This engineer will develop optimized Design of Experiment, conduct tests, and/or oversee test execution by technicians with minimal supervision. He or she will develop and validate in-vitro characterization methodology, principally for drug/device combination products, and recommend new or alternative equipment and methods as appropriate. He or she will supervise technicians &/or engineering staff engaged in equipment validation and/or test method development and validation. He or she will develop and monitor the status of project plans, coordinate activities with various cross-functional teams as appropriate, and support regulatory filings. Verbal and written reporting of work in a regular basis through departmental meetings, large cross-functional meetings, and to management, as needed, are required. Able to generate and communicate project strategies and scenario plans to mitigate project risks. Working knowledge of patents / IP analysis. Process Excellence background is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in relevant Engineering discipline and five to nine years of related engineering experience or an MS degree and three to five years of related engineering experience is required. Process and Product Development engineering experience is required. Experience in the medical device industry is preferred. Validation experience is preferred. Hands-on DOE and statistical experience is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills both written and verbal are required. Ability to be self-directed, to work independently, and to seek collaboration with team members and guidance from management when needed. Ability to communicate across cross-functional levels is required. Position is based in Miami Lakes, FL
