About this role:
1. Our client is doing an Empower implementation. The project has not yet started.
2. If the project is already underway, what project stage are you in? Project will be assisting with the creation of a broker portal for Empower. The Project has not started yet.
3. One of the roles will need more C# experience, while the other role will need more ASP .NET experience (so they can balance one another).
Job Summary:
The Development Lead will be assigned to one or more project teams. As a member of a project team, the Development Lead will assume various roles including full responsibility for delivering projects.
In addition, the Development Lead will be assigned non-project or cross-project roles. These roles include oversight of other team members and working closely with the Development Team Leader to maintain high team morale and productivity. Duties include development in one or more of the follow technologies: SQL, XML/XSL, ASP.NET, C#, and VB.NET.
Essential Functions:
Project Functions:
· Work with the business owners to refine and clarify business requirements.
· Work with other members of the project team to create technical specifications from project requirements.
· Work closely with software vendor partners to oversee off-site development activities
· Support and review the work of other developers.
· Properly track progress, effort, issues and resolutions.
· Communicate and document status to senior project management and to department management.
· Work with IT and business test groups to support quality and acceptance tests.
· Assign development activities. Track progress of assigned activities.
· Estimate and plan all tasks associated with a project’s technical deliverables.
· Ensure that all code retains logical stability, reliability, confidentiality, and integrity of our systems is in accordance with our policies, procedures and guidelines, taking appropriate actions for all violations.
Non-Project and Cross-Project Functions:
· Meet regularly with team members. Take action on issues raised.
· Perform quarterly reviews.
· Support professional development of team members.
· Work with the Development Team Leader to allocate people to projects and prepare staffing projections.
· Lead evaluations of potential process improvements.
Experience & Qualifications:
· Several years experience developing applications.
· Several years experience providing team leadership and delivering projects.
· Experience in agile project methodology and working in a SCRUM environment
· Experience in overseeing third party vendor development activities
Technical skills and abilities:
· In-depth knowledge of web content presentation methods (HTML, XSL, etc.).
· In-depth knowledge of ODBC and SQL.
· In-depth knowledge of C#, ASP.NET, and .NET architecture
· Additional experience should include Windows desktop and server applications (such as MS Office and SQL Server), some UNIX, and basic hardware systems.
· Solid interpersonal skills.
· Ability to communication clearly in written and verbal form.
· Exceptional problem solving abilities.
· Ability to lead others and to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Education and/or Certifications:
· Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
· Microsoft Certification is a plus
