Director, Product Engineering

CSS Tec currently has a client in King of Prussia, PA that is looking to hire a full time Director, Product Engineering.

As Director, Product Engineering, you will lead cross-functional, product development teams responsible for the design, development & enhancement of our world class suite of products that our clients use to conduct global ecommerce.

The ideal candidate for this very visible leadership position will have more than ten years of professional experience developing and delivering enterprise software products. A background working with ecommerce technologies and/or packaged software is a strong plus.

The candidate will have a successful history of building and leading product development teams, and a sustained track record of delivering high-quality solutions on-time and on-budget. The candidate will maintain all financial, labor-based and status-related information for all product development activities within his/her domain. He/she must demonstrate a strong competency in creating an environment that fosters accountability, quality, commitment, growth, and innovation.

* Experience with building, motivating & mentoring high-performance software development teams.
* Experience with a variety of development methodologies and mature understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of each. Experience with Project Management Tools is a plus.
* Experience with enterprise software architecture and Domain Driven Design, and development technologies including J2EE, Java and SQL databases
* Superior verbal, written & interpersonal communication skills with both technical & non-technical audiences.

Minimum Qualifications
* BS with advanced degree preferred (e.g. MS, PhD. in Computer Science)
* Must have 10+ years significant experience in full-lifecycle, large-scale software development
* Must have 5+ years managing technical project teams in Java/J2EE/Unix architecture with heavily data-drive applications
* Must have 5+ years as a Software Engineering Manager for a software technology company, managing teams of 20+ persons in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
* Must have significant prior hands-on software engineering experience as a programmer, software engineer, developer, etc.
