Currently, a client of ours in Philadelphia is looking for a Sr. Developer to become a part of their CORE Development team.
As a leader of the core engineering team you will work closely with the founders and other like-minded, innovative developers in a fast paced challenging environment to help shape the technology landscape and culture of the core product. If you enjoy working on high volume platforms, architecting solutions to large scale problems, writing clean code, hate spaghetti code and want to be involved in building a company from the ground up then this is the opportunity for you. Smarts are required, set your own hours.
Responsibilities
* Join the team to develop the core advertising and optimization platform * Code high-volume ad delivery software using primarily Python, Java, and C * Work closely with engineering team to scale / architect ad platform * Collaborate and innovate with the core development team to create new solutions and implement cutting-edge technologies * Think outside the box / be highly creative * Be willing to learn new technologies * Help build report interfaces and data feeds
Requirements
* Enthusiasm for solving interesting problems and a willingness to learn * Roughly 5+ years of large-scale Object Oriented Programming and Design experience in any of the following: Python, PHP, Java, JVM, C++, Ruby * 2+ years Python, PERL and/or Ruby is highly desired * Has built a system that has operated on greater than 20 machines/servers -- must have experience working on a Linux Platform * Extensive knowledge of open source technologies * Experience with source control (SVN, CVS) * Experience writing software that communicates directly with 3rd party software (crawlers, automation scripts, API*s, cloud computing, distributed systems, etc) * Well versed in HTTP protocol * Self-motivated and reliable a MUST
Pluses
* Experience with Amazon EC2 and S3 or Google Cloud * Familiarity with high-volume messaging and the AMQP protocol * Experience with ad serving technologies * Experience with large scale distributed computing (MapReduce, Hadoop, Cluster Computing, Cloud Computing etc.) * Familiar with log processing and data analysis * Scalability / Redundancy / High volume environments * Previous startup experience
