AmeriPath, Inc. is one of the nations largest physician and laboratory companies focused on providing anatomic pathology, cancer diagnostic, and healthcare information services to physicians, hospitals, national clinical laboratories and managed care organizations. Presently operating in 24 states, we provide medical services through outpatient pathology laboratories, hospital inpatient laboratories, and outpatient surgery centers. AmeriPath has an immediate opening for a Vice President of Operations in our Anatomic Pathology Division located in Madison, NJ. The Vice President of Operations will plan and direct operations, administrative, and finance activities for the AP Division. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Leads the Division by providing vision and inspiration. Provides guidance, resources and support to its management and employees. Develops and establishes short- and long-range plans and objectives for the assigned Division, and develops and implements strategies to achieve those plans and objectives. Confers with company leaders to plan business objectives, to develop organizational policies to coordinate functions and operations between divisions and departments, and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives. Coordinates the strategic planning process for the Division. Develops and implements strategies to achieve these strategic objectives. Directs the operating activities of the Division. Negotiates physician employment agreements, hospital contracts and resolves issues pertaining to the agreements and/or contracts. Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine process and status in attaining objectives, and revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. Plans and develops initiatives designed to improve the companya Ts image and relations with customers, employees, stockholders, and public. Evaluates performance of division leaders for compliance with established policies and objectives of the company, and in their contributions in attaining objectives. EDUCATION: a a Bachelora Ts Degree in Finance/Business or Healthcare/Aligned Science is required; Mastera Ts Degree in Business Administration (MBA), MS/PhD in Clinical Laboratory Sciences, and/or MD Degree boarded in Anatomic Pathology would be a benefit. EXPERIENCE: a a Required: 10 years Healthcare Management experience, including senior level leadership role. Experience in Anatomic Pathology and/or lab/clinical management. REQUIRED SKILLS: a a Analytical and quantitative/statistical skills a a Budgeting and financial management skills a a Leadership and motivational skills a a People management and presentation skills a a Ability to lead and direct all levels of management.
