Title: Territory Sales Consultant Location: NY-White Plains The primary objective of the Territory Sales Consultant (TSC) is to generate profitable growth and increased market share within the independent agencies under contract with Encompass and Allstate. The TSC executes tactics and processes to achieve the territorys business plan. The job is accomplished through the consistent use of professional business planning, consulting skills, and agent education/training. Direct Reports: This position has no direct reports. **This position will cover the Westchester County** Experience and Knowledge * Minimum 5-7 years combined distribution experience in P&C and TL. * 4-year college degree. * Proven track record for obtaining business results through the development of effective internal relationships within the distribution organization and across other business functions. * Experience in field distribution leadership and P&C and TL sales. * Working knowledge of all IA brand products and processes, to include P&C and Traditional Life. Analytical and Technical Skills * Understanding of pricing, claims, contract provisions, support resources, agency systems, financial analysis, sales trend analysis and marketing data. * Ability to analyze, assemble & deliver information. * Experience using Company (Encompass, Allstate, and Deerbrook) technology (i.e. Interlink, Alliance, ALSTAR and Triton) and Microsoft Office products. * Extensive P&C and TL product knowledge (where needed). * Proficiency with consulting and business tools. * Knowledge of the industry, including competitors and trends (benchmarking) * Knowledge of all aspects of sales process and drivers (shop, buy, cross-sell, retain, profitability, etc.) * In-depth knowledge of the Company business model. * Business consulting and sales skills experience and expertise. Non-technical Skills * Superior interpersonal skills -- Can quickly develop relationships and inspire trust. * Strong communication skills -- Includes presentation, business writing, negotiation, motivation and relationship management. * Problem solving -- Uses seasoned judgment by applying broad knowledge and experience when addressing complex issues. * Planning and organizational skills -- Can marshal resources (people, funding, material, support) to get things done; can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal; uses resources effectively and efficiently. * Ability to negotiate and influence others. * Ability to persuade others or gain acceptance of complex ideas where difficult but necessary to achieve goals and objectives. Other * Strong business knowledge * Ability to develop effective internal relationships across business functions * Overnight travel * Maintain industry relationships (e.g., PIA, IIABA, etc.)
