A client of ours in Philadelphia is looking to bring on a Quality Assurance Analyst to join their fast-paced development team. As a member of the Development team, the QA Analyst will participate in the development and testing activities relating to a next generation Collateral Management application, utilizing the latest Microsoft technologies and Service Oriented Architecture.
- The QA Analyst will take part in the development and execution of "Exploratory Testing" to ensure the highest possible levels of quality. This role will work within a team of Development Engineers in a fast-paced, challenging, and growing environment to implement and execute test strategies. The successful candidate must develop extensive knowledge of the company's products and QA processes and must be an abstract and creative thinker, capable of learning and summarizing complex concepts and issues. - The QA Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing business and functional specifications for test planning purposes, as well as creating and revising test cases for product features and capabilities. The QA Analyst must have a solid understanding of the entire software development life cycle process, including requirements, analysis, design, coding, testing, and documentation in an Agile, Test Driven Development environment. - This position will require strong debugging and diagnostic skills. The candidate we are looking for understands the impact of program changes and ensures that business and functional requirements are traceable to the program changes and have been tested by quality assurance team and end users. The person will be required to develop, review and/or challenge test scripts, as a result of conducting Ad Hoc and Exploratory tests to ensure they fully and accurately exercise appropriate aspects of the applications. - Verification of functional specifications for completeness and testability prior to the commencement of design and implementation. - Energetic and balanced person with a drive for results, who feels accountable, has a great attitude, is a great leader and team player.
Responsibilities - Provide timely and accurate status reporting to the Product Mgr. and Service Delivery Mgr. - Provide immediate and detailed feedback to the Lead Development Engineer regarding newly identified software defects. - Rapidly analyze client problems escalated from Customer Satisfaction to Testing. - Analyze software defects to determine exact steps to reproduce them.
* Operational QA functions testing responsibility will involve many of the following: - application, database server and infrastructure failures and recovery; application/server clustering, data sharing and replication; server/application/database failover and recovery; application security functionality; application load testing; application software distribution, installation and fallback procedures; operational maintenance procedures; system and application monitoring/alerting.
Qualifications - Candidate should have a minimum of 5+ years of hands-on software QA and testing experience in UAT, regression and blackbox testing. * 2+ years of Linux experience. (must be able to run basic Linux commands) * Experience in operational QA of high-available, clustered servers. * Basic working knowledge of TCP/IP networking - networking topology, protocols and services. * Experience with software release procedures. Release building, distribution and tracking. * Must have the ability to produce technical documentation. * Disaster recovery experience desirable. - Experience with Exploratory Testing is highly desired. - Must have superior communication skills and thrive in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. - Must have experience working in a Test-Driven Development, XP (extreme programming) or Agile Environment. - Must be an out-of-box thinker and superior problem solver.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with open-source web-testing tools such as: WATIR and Selenium.
