CareersCareer OpportunitiesSupport & Professional PositionsEducator Instructional Designer InfoEducator/Instructional Designer Work Schedule: Full Time Salary: $60,989 ?? $95,026 GS-11/1 - GS-12/10 Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area CIA University is looking for innovative instructional designers with proven expertise and creativity in designing instruction for online, face-to-face, and blended learning environments, including for a Course Management System such as Moodle or Blackboard. If you are talented, creative, and want to make a difference, join us as we develop creative learning solutions for the Agency. You will design mission-critical training programs used by CIA employees at all levels serving worldwide. Your work can help to improve the knowledge and skills of officers who carry out extraordinary tasks in service to our nation. You will work alongside subject matter experts in such topics as proliferation, terrorism and complex financial systems, and you will be able to draw on resources and talents of our graphic designers, multimedia developers, and a video team. We offer a creative atmosphere in which to work, professional development opportunities, and flexible working schedules. You will take the lead on projects and collaborate with subject matter experts, other instructional designers, and members of the production team. You will also serve as a consultant and adviser to CIA U faculty about how to integrate technology effectively in teaching and learning. Minimum requirementsinclude a masters degree in instructional design, instructional technology, education or related field with a concentration in instructional design, and you should have at least three years work experience in instructional development. Successful candidates will have a deep practical and theoretical knowledge about designing instruction for adults, and they will possess a keen recognition of the benefits that technology offers in enabling and supporting learning. They will have a passion for the field of learning and dedication to keeping up with innovations, research, theories, technologies, and trends in the field. Any experience in rapid prototyping, iterative design, or other practices that streamline development processes will give an edge to a candidate. Successful candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills, an openness to experimenting with new learning techniques and technologies, and a record of being innovative, taking initiative, and seizing new opportunities for enhancing learning. They must be able to juggle multiple, complex projects, prioritize competing demands and work requirements, and work independently and interdependently. Experience as an instructor and facilitator in the classroom, online, and in blended environments will give an added advantage.
