Posted Date: 1/27/2009 Job Category: Accounting and Finance Position Title: Audit Manager Salary Range: $55,000 - $80,000 Location: Hagerstown-Martinsburg, Maryland, USA Desired Skills:  Description: RESPONSIBILITIES As a Manager in our audit practice, you will report to and receive instruction from the Sr. Managers and Principals focused in attestation services, engagement management, business development, recruitment, staff supervision and training, and personal and professional development. Audit Managers will review and prepare financial statements, footnotes, work papers, management letters, agreed upon procedures and other attestation engagements. They are expected to demonstrate professional creativity in dealing with client matters and make constructive suggestions to improve client operations. At this level, Audit Managers will effectively analyze client transactions, recognizing and resolving potential or existing problems with appropriate research and consulting. They will accept responsibility and utilize firm resources for the completion of tasks assigned by upper management. Managers will directly manage staff and be held accountable for engagements led. Audit Managers will also develop a thorough understanding of all tax, audit and consulting services provided by the firm, link this understanding to potential client needs, identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of client needs, actively participate in proposal development, and at the direction of management, and take a lead role responding to requests for proposal. REQUIREMENTS . Education: BS/BA accounting; CPA required . Minimum 5 years audit & accounting experience in a public accounting arena, experience serving clients in technology, government contracting, hospitality, manufacturing, distribution is preferred . Demonstrated writing skills a must; proposal development experience desired . Strong research skills . Proven technical skills with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook; audit software, Go Systems, and Caseware experience a plus . Solid organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task
