Vice President of Business Development

Vice President of Business Development Department:HQ Office:    HQ Location:  Washington, DC Description Vice President, Business Development Job Description ·    The Vice President, Business Development will be responsible for overall business development, practice and staff development, management and establishing and achieving sales and profit goals for the corporation. This dynamic and entrepreneurial individual will continue to establish and support the companies’ practices in all CSSI regions.  ·    Lead a team identifying target markets, cultivating key contacts, positioning our business; and developing capture plans.  ·    Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management throughout the year. Establish expectations of value to be delivered.  * Lead the division by managing daily operations and developing and executing growth strategy. * Continually develop new client business by pursuing business opportunities with strategic targets and cultivating relationships with existing clients. * Mentor management team by directing their work efforts, monitoring recruitment efforts, resolving client and/or associate issues, and addressing internal office issues. * Facilitate the continued growth of practice through timely hiring and managing of employees involved in client service, recruiting and business development. * Represent CSSI in appropriate professional and community organizations. Education and Certifications * Bachelor Degree required, Advanced Degree preferred

Experience * Experience as Vice President, Business Development in government contracting industry, federal government industry preferred * Minimum requirements: 12+ years of business experience, including government contracts and management level experience * An established professional network in the Washington, DC metro region  * A proven track record as senior level business development executive managing other business development resources * Experience in capture and proposal management * A proven track record in winning bids in the Federal Market place Skills and Abilities * Advanced written, communication and interpersonal skills required * Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships. * A dedication to teamwork and leadership integrity within a professional environment * Ability to manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment. * Excellent project management skills * Exhibits Professionalism * Experience selling professional services, networking and generating leads. * A high level of enthusiasm for building a business, developing personnel and a personal sense of urgency and capacity to overcome obstacles. * Demonstrated track record of positive change in all positions held. * An entrepreneurial individual who thrives on building and growing a successful and dynamic practice. * Leadership qualities in the areas of practice and staff development.  * Strong commitment to mentoring and development of staff from the associate through manager levels. * Ability to respond effectively and quickly to clients’ needs and issues. * Ability to negotiate and communicate complex concepts/business issues verbally and in writing to clients, associates and management. * Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities/projects and proven ability to develop business relationships.
