Job No:  2009-0603S Job Title: Research Assistant III Department: LOMBARDI SHARED RESOURCES Grade/Level: 09 Date Posted: July 14, 2009 This position will provide technical support for the Byers Laboratory and the Zebrafish Core Facility of Lombardi Cancer Center in Georgetown University. Duties include: zebrafish maintenance, including feeding, cleaning and general upkeep of facility equipment; breeding and genotyping to maintain wild-type, transgenic and mutant fish lines; breeding and collecting embryos for experimental manipulation; performing experiments on embryos such as microinjection and drug treatments; fixation and processing embryos for storage and future analyses including immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization. The position will also be responsible for routine laboratory procedures such as western blotting cloning and PCR. Bachelors in Biochemistry. 2 years of laboratory experience in biology or biochemistry is required. Experience with microinjecting embryos would be highly desired.
