Job No: 2009-0515S Job Title: Research Assistant II Department: Rheumatology, Immunology and Allergy Grade/Level: 08$ 28,863.20-- $ 37,522.16 Date Posted: June 25, 2009 Candidate will conduct and perform clinical research trials and advanced benchtop research to gain insight into mechanisms of disease pathophysiology. Must be a self-starter who can cross this translational between clinical and basic research, and have a track record for excellence in both aspects of research. The candidate will collaborate, cooperate, and organize the set-up of new studies, subject recruitment, subject testing and follow-up, sample inventory, biochemical, proteomic, and genotypic analysis of samples by coordinating this work with collaborators, data analysis including advanced statistical methods, processing data and preparation of manuscripts and grant applications. Candidate must show evidence of working in both laboratory and clinical forums. Clinical experience may include human relations, analytical tasks, and research to define areas of pertinent information for the Principal Investigator. At least one year experience required fro the following areas: -clinical research and other positions that require interactions with others, -literature and other data research and analysis, and -basic sciences including development of novel immunoassays and other methods of analysis. Candidate must have experience at basic bench top research in order to perform specific immunoaffinity and other analytical assays. The candidate will be required to assist with basic laboratory duties including environmental health safety, cleaning, computer security and updating, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.
