Job No: 2009-0082S Job Title: Biostatistician Department: Lombardi Cancer Center Grade/Level: 12-- $ 64,890.00 Date Posted: February 23, 2009 Under general direction of a faculty biostatistician, individual provides biostatistical consultation and collaboration on the design, conduct, analysis, and interpretation of research projects in basic science, clinical medicine, and population science. Individual prepares reports and analyses of research projects both for scientific papers and grant proposals. The position exists to ensure that research projects conducted at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center adhere to the best principles of design and analysis and that results and conclusions are based on the evidence from the experiments and expressed in a form suitable for publication in high quality scientific journals. We need a biostatistician who has considerable experience analyzing the large linked datasets that are used for cancer research (such as the SEER-Medicare linked data) as well as other emerging automated data sources, such as those available from HMO plans and VA sources. The incumbent will prepare reports and analysis of research projects both for scientific papers and grant proposals. The position exists to ensure that research projects conducted at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer center and the Biomedical Graduate Research Organization adhere to the best principles of design and analysis and that results and conclusions are based on the evidence from the experiments and expressed in a form suitable for publication in high quality scientific journals. Masters degree, with at least two years of experience with biostatistical aspects of medical research projects required. Programming skills in SAS, S-Plus/R and Matlab.
