General Description: Acts as primary Liaison between the Center for Prevention and Early Intervention and Baltimore City Public Schools that are participating in the PATHS to PAX program implementation and evaluation. Responsible for organizing and leading all assessment related activities to include: conducting presentations with school principals, teachers, and administrative staff to cover program overview, implementation research design, data collection activities and timeline; administering and training teachers to fill out web-based surveys 4 times during the school year; obtaining parent and teacher consent for participation in the study; meeting with parents and teachers to explain purpose of the study and address questions and concerns related to assessment activities; providing feedback and suggestions related to data collection procedures and structure of the assessment team; revising and developing protocols on how to best engage, maintain rapport, and partner with school staff and parents; overseeing data collection reliability; maintaining monthly student enrollment and transfer records; tracking the population throughout the school year through multiple sources of computer searches, calls, and visits to last known addresses in the community; scheduling and confirming data collection with schools; conducting PATHS to PAX classroom observations; preparing materials for training and data collection; editing and cleaning data for data entry and processing; updating and maintaining confidential population database; compiling and reporting data on completed assessments to the Director of Evaluations; Generally works independently, but will be supervised by Mireille Aprahamian. Attends mandatory weekly debriefing sessions. Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED. Must be a self-starter, possess strong people skills, and be able to make quick professional decisions as required. Must be able to create an efficient work schedule according to the assignment needs; most assignment needs require flexible hours which include available weekends and evenings. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent reading and comprehension skills. Must be a quick learner and possess an ability to quickly and comfortably adapt to diverse populations and communities/neighborhoods. Must have own reliable transportation with ability to travel daily and be comfortable with visiting last known addresses of participants within the community. Maturity and persuasion skills. Familiarity with laptops and computers, reading maps, and interviewing techniques. Capacity to build trust quickly. Detail oriented. Two years of related experience including prior experience working with minority populations in the fields of education, social work, mental health, and psychology. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Psychology, Mental Health, Social Work, Education, Business, or related field preferred. Previous work in the field of research preferred. NOTE: The successful candidate(s) for this position will be subject to a pre-employment background check.  The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, working with research subjects, or involving community contact generally require immunization against mumps, rubella, measles, chicken pox and hepatitis B. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office. Please be aware that should you require vaccination for chicken pox, the vaccine is administered in two doses given six weeks apart. Johns Hopkins University policy is that individuals will be placed off work without pay between the two doses.
