General Description: Biostatistician for the Asthma Clinical Research Centers (ACRC) trials which is housed within the Center for Clinical Trials. Provide biostatistical and computer system support including major responsibilities for data analysis; maintain and document the different study data systems and databases; produce well documented programs for analysis for performance and treatment monitoring reports, special meetings, presentations, and manuscripts; provide ACRC Coordinating Center with computer support for ancillary studies conducted at the clinics; report/paper writing. Work with senior biostatisticians and study investigators to design and implement analyses for reports and manuscripts. PC used 100% of time. Qualifications: Masters degree in biostatistics, epidemiology, or related quantitative field. Familiarity with database management and knowledge of operating systems including Windows and computer programming language SAS, STATA, and R. One year related experience. Demonstrated ability on significant graduate project or additional doctoral education may substitute for experience. Ability to independently use reference manuals to develop proficiency with software of computer systems. NOTE: The successful candidate(s) for this position will be subject to a pre-employment background check.  The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, working with research subjects, or involving community contact generally require immunization against mumps, rubella, measles, chicken pox and hepatitis B. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office. Please be aware that should you require vaccination for chicken pox, the vaccine is administered in two doses given six weeks apart. Johns Hopkins University policy is that individuals will be placed off work without pay between the two doses.
