Manager Health Informatics Reports To: Director Strategic Initiatives & Data Analytics Location: Madison, NJ Salary: 95K - 105K + 10% Bonus
Basic Purpose: Work with cross‐functional team of analysts, medical doctors, business leaders, and IT to develop HIPAA - compliant statistical / mathematical models linking variety of data sources to health outcomes, including disease risk, mortality risk, healthcare cost, and employee productivity. Data sources include laboratory test results, selfreported health risk assessments, medical and prescription claims, and employee productivity data.
Duties and Responsibilities: integrate and analyze large data sets using advanced statistical, mathematical, and data mining techniques demonstrating the value of diagnostic testing in treatment across wide variety of disease states
identify opportunities to streamline analytical processes, including refinements to data processing algorithms, adoption of new technologies, and process reengineering
supervise project execution including project planning, research protocol development, and resourceallocation. Use strong business judgment to reconcile opinions of cross‐functional team
evaluate quality and accuracy of project deliverables; help prepare and deliver presentations – including indepth analytical conclusions and interpretation of advanced statistical methods (multivariate regression analysis, data mining techniques, non‐linear optimization, etc.) to technical and non‐technical audiences
support efforts to develop information products/solutions that support existing Lines of Business
review and recommend statistical and other analytic software packages
contribute to development of promotional materials, case studies, and white papers intended to strengthen reputation of thought leadership in health informatics capabilities
Qualifications:
Education: advanced degree (PHd is preferred MS will work for the right candidate) in life sciences or related quantitative field, including Actuarial Science, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health/Bio‐Informatics, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, or Economics
WorkExperience: 8+ years professional experience performing advanced statistical analysis and data mining in the healthcare industry with a proven record of achievement
Computer Skills:
statistical and/or mathematical programming languages such as SAS, MATLAB, R, etc.
SQL and relational databases such as Oracle
proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
experience with graphical/GIS and/or data visualization software is preferred, but not required
