Work Schedule: Full Time Salary: $52,201 - $79,280 Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area The National Reconnaissance Office seeks qualified Auditors for its Office of Inspector General to conduct performance audits. In addition to individual work, the incumbent will either participate in or lead a diverse group of government personnel in addressing a broad range of issues. NRO OIG audits can originate internally, but some are conducted in response to requests from the Director of the NRO, Congress and members of the Intelligence Community. Responsibilities include developing and writing audit guides; developing and documenting audit findings in accordance with accepted government auditing standards; and developing audit conclusions and recommendations designed to improve effectiveness or efficiency or NRO operations. Auditors will also conduct or support other OIG functions as required. Working in the OIG allows for growth beyond a particular area of expertise and the opportunity to gain a better understanding of the intricacies of NRO management. Some domestic and foreign travel may be required. Minimum requirementsinclude a BA/BS in accounting or a related field, such as business, finance or public administration (including at least 24 semester hours of auditing or accounting). Specialized experience that enables you to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically related to evaluating compliance with laws and regulations, or assessing the effectiveness, economy and efficiency of resource utilization; management processes and procedures; and the extent to which mission objectives are being achieved is also needed. Applicants with experience or expertise in Office of Inspector General and audit methodologies are preferred. Candidates must be highly self-motivated individuals with strong organizational and interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communications skills, and the ability to work within short deadlines. The ability to function across a broad range of disciplines and to assemble and assimilate large quantities of data is also needed, along with the knowledge needed to discern key issues, draw appropriate conclusions and establish a track record of producing cogent assessments of complex issues.
