Electrical Engineer I - Acoustics Tracking Code 6168 Job Description As an entry level engineer, performs routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications. Job duties include: * Designs, develops and reviews electronic products, components or systems requiring the utilization of electronic or electrical principles and their application to specific assignments. * Works on assigned tasks which include circuitry development, theoretical calculations, prototyping, packaging and determining reliability quality levels and/or performance as required. * Performs specific and limited portions of broad assignments to provide experience and familiarization with methods and practices of the company in a specialty field and to ascertain the interests and aptitudes of the beginning engineer. * Provides planning and status inputs to the Cost Account Manager for tasks performed. * Participates in the development of test strategies, devices, and systems. * Performs administrative duties in connection with small engineering projects as required. * Assists in hardware and/or software integration. * May assist in field installation and sell-off to customer. Required Skills * System component level detailed design knowledge. * Engineering process and procedures to the basic engineering level. * Mathematical modeling and algorithm development. * Computer aided engineering. * Basic personal computer skills. (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, presentation graphics) * Exercise of judgment is required on details or work and in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. * Basic understanding of test equipment. * Written and oral communication skills which support cooperation with task leader and support organizations. * Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to intellectual and practical problems. * Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism.
