Procurement Analyst / Logistics Analyst - (AB-IH1) Job Type: Full-Time Requisition Number: AB-IH1 Location: Indian Head, MD Contract Length: 2-5 years Salary: Market Job Description: EdgeTech Consulting a prime vendor to the US Navy, is seeking 3 Procurement / Logistics Analysts for the following multi-year project in Indian Head, MD. Only US Citizens are eligible. A DoD Secret Clearance will be required for most team members. We are seeking the following personnel for a multi-year project in Indian Head, MD. This team will provide technical support services in the areas of information assurance, continuous improvement, strategic planning process development, direct customer service, and employing new technologies in systems and services. This team will assist in assessing, developing and implementing enhanced operating systems, supporting pilot initiatives, and evaluating new technology applications for the Navys Contracts Management and Standard Procurement Systems. Team members required: . Program Manager . Systems Engineer . Computer Systems Analysts (2) . Senior Analyst . Senior Systems Specialist . Analysts (2) . Senior programmer . Document Specialist . Data Entry Operators (2) System Description: Contracts Management System (CMS) application is a Client/Server Application using the Microsofts SQL Server 2000 database and a front end application developed using Microsoft Access 2000. The CMS Systems includes the Standard Procurement System (SPS) and Procurement Desktop-Defense (PD2) applications. The predominant software and O/S technologies used to operate/support SPS include Web Methods 6.5, Adapter 2.2, Sybase 12.5, and Solaris. The system environment is primarily Silicon Graphics Unix-based mainframe and workstation computers. We are seeking 3 Analysts with experience in DoD procurement processes and systems. Experience with the Standard Procurement System (SPS) and Procurement Desktop-Defense (PD2) applications is preferred. Responsibilities will include: . providing technical, administrative, information assurance, training and implementation support with emphasis on continuous assessment and improvement. . providing expert advice on implementing the latest techniques such as business process and re-engineering, performance technology, information and data re-systemization. . Evaluating and providing recommendations and coordinate efforts toward functional improvement to ensure that lessons learned are widely incorporated in an efficient manner. . interact with headquarters and field activity organizations to help stimulate and implement functional and cultural changes for systems . performing research studies, audits, and analyses including literature reviews . performing functional and gap analyses, . performing statistical research, risk assessments, field investigations, data collection and reduction to assess system, equipment, and organizational performance factors. . support safety, knowledge management, and systems usability evaluations of private sector Best Management Practices (BMP) and assist in determining applicability to Government operations. . Provide support to assist in business re-engineering, LEAN, process flow analysis, and functional improvement planning and execution that will improve current operational performance. Functional areas will include . material and financial management, and related processes and systems support. . Improvements to material, acquisition, and financial management to optimize investment returns and cost control . improve responsiveness to customer requirements . improve the ability for handling material and financial transactions and interfaces. Required actions may include assistance in the development of material and acquisition management of financial organizational changes, policy statements, performance objectives, reporting requirements and control systems related to physical inventory, accountability, or transaction interfaces.
