Title: Benefits Analyst Location: NY-New York The Benefits Analyst supports the domestic Retirement Plan and Health and Welfare disciplines. Primary functions of this role include day-to-day analysis and administration needs with respect to Company's pension plan and 401(k) plan, internal and external benefit plan audits, preparing DOL, PBGC and RDS filings, maintaining requires SOX documentation, assisting with Plan specific communications and researching and resolving plan participant escalated issues. This position also provides financial, analytical and compliance support to the Global Benefits department. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Meet day-to-day analysis and administration needs with respect to Company's pension plan, 401(k) plan. * Be an additional resource to work on Health & Welfare plan administration on an as needed basis. * Ensure all plan activities are processed in a timely and accurate manner. * Track and complete all government form filings for specified plans. * Research participant / data questions. * Work closely with vendors responsible for plan administration. * Complete plan reconciliations on monthly & semi-monthly basis, including processing monthly vendor premium payments. * Participate in meeting, training and practice improvement initiatives. * Maintain required SOX documentation. * Manage all audit engagements for both internal and external auditors, including working with finance dept to document and test controls deemed to be key by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. * Work with finance dept and actuaries on all benefit plan requirements for FAS 87, FAS 106, and FAS 112, including updates to valuation files needed for year-end disclosure requirements. * Complete all activities to ensure plans are compliant with ERISA, DOL & state reporting requirements, including non-discrimination testing, claim submissions, 5500 reporting/filing, Summary Annual Reports, etc. * Work with ERISA counsel and plan actuaries on plan compliance and plan changes. * Create benefit plan communications focusing on plan compliance and retirement education. * At least 3 years of relevant work experience. * Working knowledge of both defined benefit pension plans & defined contribution/401(k) plans, including 409A regulations. * Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word & PowerPoint. * Working knowledge/experience working with HRIS system such as PeopleSoft. * Excellent ability to effectively communicate both written & verbally with strong client focus. * Strong attention to detail. * Ability to organize, set priorities, be self-motivated, and learn independently. * Ability to complete multiple projects within established deadlines and work well under pressure. * Ability to successfully work in a team environment. * Professional and responsible approach to work, clients, and other associates.
