This position is for a cognizant systems engineer responsible to perform engineering evaluation of facility civil systems such as building structures, roofs, siding, and ladder systems, underground utilities including domestic and fire water mains, storm sewer system, sanitary sewer system, road ways, side walks, and stair ways. Also, structural evaluations for room renovations and structural beam analysis for lifting and handling evolutions. As a cognizant systems engineer responsibilities include: - Understanding of system configuration including tracking and prioritization of system deficiencies. - Maintenance of system information management (including site operations manual, drawings, analyzes, and procedures). - Performance of system inspections and initiation of proactive measures to maintain service life by developing preventative maintenance procedures and corrective maintenance work documents. - Development of plans and engineering of system shutdowns. - Development of civil facilities design standards. - Provide leadership in identification and resolution of operational problems. - Preparation and coordination of proposals, technical work scopes, training, cost estimation, justification, and other supporting documents and presentations for maintenance, modifications or implementation of new systems. - Provide commissioning plans and procedures for new construction and system modifications. - Support short and long range facility planning providing technical recommendations and cost estimates. - Will interface with multiple parties including staff, customer, procurement, architect engineering firms, Site Operations & Maintenance personnel, subcontract personnel, and compliance personnel. Selected applicants will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified matter. US citizenship is required.
