Title: Claims Consultant Employment Practices Liability Location: New York-New York WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION? We are an industry leader providing insurance solutions through complex policies referred to as "financial products", which include claims-made D&O, E&O and EPLI policies. We seek an attorney for the position ofClaims Consultant forEmployment Practices LiabilityClaims who can: * Astutely analyze complex litigations, assessing liability and evaluating damages * Fairly construe our insurance policies in connection with reported claims * Clearly and timely communicate claim status and strategies to senior management and to our insureds, defense counsel, brokers and reinsurers, etc. * Cogently negotiate fair resolutions to claims * Competently handle a "book of claims" in an organized fashion * Collegially perform in a professional and corporate environment. Also, we seek to reserve claims accurately and timely with our best and earliest determination of ultimate liability for loss and loss adjustment expenses. 2. We collaborate with our underwriters in identifying, assessing and reporting trends - i.e., the development of factors having a tendency to impact claim frequency and/or claim severity for an insured, an industry, locale or book of business. 3. Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements: 1) Undergraduate degree; advanced degreed (J.D., M.B.A.) strongly preferred. 2) A minimum of 3-5 years of insurance claims experience, preferably in the area of handling professional liability claims. 3) Experience with liability and coverage issues; critical legal evaluation and developing proactive claims strategies. 4) Superior technical expertise with Employment Practice Liability (EPL) issues.5) Exceptional communication skills, both oral and written; strong ability to influence and negotiate favorable outcomes.
