General Summary As head of Campbell Soup Company Standards, the Vice President of Worldwide Quality is responsible for all aspects of Quality and Regulatory Affairs for Campbell Soup Companys $ +6 Billion global business. This involves leadership in the areas of Global Quality Systems, Global Product Standards, Global Copack and Supply Quality Management, Regulatory Affairs, and Consumer Affairs. The VP of Worldwide Quality is the chair for the Corporate Crisis Committee, responsible for crisis management across Campbell Soup Company Global Businesses. In addition to a direct group of 35-40 employees at World Head Quarters, the position has matrix responsibility for Quality at all business units, including Global Supply Chain Quality across 40 +plants. Principal Accountabilities 1. Influence Senior management and lead the development and implementation of a strategic plan that sets a strong Quality direction for the Campbell Soup Company. Drive continuous improvement through benchmarking and leveraging of best practices to ensure Campbell Soup Company product design processes and global Quality systems are world class. 2. Influence the successful implementation of approaches and programs that drive Quality as a competitive advantage for Campbell Soup Company and drive business success. 3. Ensure that global policies, procedures and systems are effectively implemented to continually maximize Campbell Soup Companys ability to effectively protect Brand Equity while balancing the risks needed to deliver superior business results. 4. Influence government and regulatory agencies in support of Campbell Soup Company business needs and opportunities while ensuring compliance to all applicable regulations globally. 5. Leverage effective, focused consumer response as a tool to drive competitive advantage. 6. Leverage Global specification systems to ensure accuracy and increase agility. 7. As leader of the Corporate Crisis team, effectively manage crisis situations to protect our consumers and Campbell equity. 8. Represent Campbell Soup Company on key industry committees in support of Campbell Soup Company business needs and opportunities. 9. Build the organizational capability and vitality of the Quality team via effective career development, coaching and mentoring. 10. As a member of the Global Senior R&D teamwork build a world class R&D organization. 11. Responsible for operational compliance to Quality policies, systems, specifications and procedures to protect Campbell equity and  ensure consistent delivery of consumer desired products across the 40+ plant global manufacturing network. 12. Proactive Leadership in system-wide audits across supply network to ensure material, process, product and operational conformance to specifications and other requirements. 13. Leverage industry best thinking to drive continuous improvement mindset across vendor and supply chain network. 14. Training to ensure skills improvement for Quality Control and other professionals across the supply network. Job Complexity . As leader of the Corporate Crisis team balance risks to maximize the protection of the consumer and Campbell Equity, interacting with regulators, customers and senior management in recall situations globally. . Represent Campbell Soup Company and work with industry partners and associates to influence regulators in such areas as Bioterrorism regulations, Nutrition/Health and Wellness regulations. . Develop, implement and verify compliance to global policies,standards and technology to assure quality of global supply base. . Work with subordinates to balance risk to provide flexibility to the business while protecting Campbell Equity. . Sponsor/direct programs to resolve key consumer issues - such as unwanted microwave activity. . Provide support and input to matrix reports across the business to resolve key quality issues . Influence senior management to adopt and institutionalize key measures of quality that drive the business. . Develop comprehensive people development plan that ensures backstops for key positions and defines the future structure for Quality globally. . Provide input into the R&D strategic plan, ensuring the inclusion of key initiatives that drive Quality and a competitive advantage. . As a member of the Global Supply Chain leadership team, ensure key strategies and programs to drive Global quality initiatives are supported and resourced. . Manage an 8 million dollar budget and a direct organization of 36 people. Matrix responsibility for 300 + quality professionals across the global Businesses and Supply Chain. Job Specifications . Minimum BS degree with 15 + years of food industry experience and strong technical depth. Masters Preferred. . Capable of managing senior staff in a multi-disciplinary function. . Ability to influence senior management and company direction. . Ability to stand-alone in areas affecting Campbell equity. . Knowledge of quality systems and requirements. . Ability to manage risks and deal with ambiguity in situations that affect Campbell Soup Company equity globally. . Ability to represent Campbell Soup to regulators, customers, industry associations. . Ability to set the direction for an organization and implement the changes needed to reach organizational goals. . Strong external linkages in the food industry. . Understand Business needs and opportunities and how to leverage staff to deliver business success. . Work to deliver systems and processes that benefit the global organization - across multiple businesses and cultures. Working Conditions Office environment with some international travel and travel to domestic and international manufacturing facilities.
