QA Test Lead Summary of responsibilities:
Under the direction of the assigned QA Project Manager, supports the delivery of high quality products and services to the enterprise and members. On a project basis, assume responsibility for the compliance with Quality Assurance standards, processes and procedures throughout the project lifecycle. Maintain a awareness of project schedules, assess deviations to determine their impact to Quality Assurance activities and deliverables, and work with project team members to define corrective actions. Partner with team members in the PMO, Delivery, Technical Services and Business Entities to resolve issues and deliver high quality applications.
Responsible for assessing requirements, design documentation and other project artifacts to develop the QA test approach. Under the direction of the QA Project Manager, develop QA estimates and impact/risk assessments as part of QA Planning Phase. Lead team effort to define and develop tests cases and data sets as part of QA Preparation Phase. Assign and oversee daily tasks of QA project team members, assume a leadership role in defect/issue analysis and resolution. Generate daily status reports during QA Execution Phase. Work closely with the QA Project Manager to complete post-implementation deliverables and participate Lessons Learned sessions with project team members.
Duties:
-As a key member of the project team, provide QA work leadership and oversight for assigned projects -Develop and deliver appropriate QA work products defined for QA Planning, Preparation and Execution phases. These include test estimates, test plans, project status and defect management reports, and other reports as may be requested by the project team. -Build and maintain effective working relationships with PMO., Delivery, Business and Technology peers to insure integration of QA activity within the overall project plan -Under QA Managers direction, develop HI-Level and Detail QA estimates for assigned projects -Perform QA risk/impact assessment of each assigned project based on detailed review of requirements, design documentation and other key project artifacts such as t, ; . -Produce and distribute assessment ta Create test plans based on QA template and implement appropriate QA test execution strategies; oversee the development and review of the QA Test Plan for each project -Maintain and evaluate project metrics that provide insight into QA effectiveness and efficiency. Lead and actively participate in continuous process improvement activities -Provide leadership to QA team members for longer term department objective, i.e. staff development planning, performance evaluation, internal process improvement and improved customer relationships -Participate in the selection and implementation of select tools and technologies to be dedicated to testing efforts -Enforce test standards, guidelines and best practices aligned with compliance guidelines and IT goals
Qualifications & Skills: *Minimum of 3 - 5 years experience leading QA project activities within medium to large projects *3 years with RUP or an equivalent industry standard methodology *3-5 Years using Mercury Quality Center / Test director or other defect/test management tools *3-5 years experience with automated testing approaches and tools *Experience with full quality management lifecycle for application development and delivery *Proven track record for working effectively with technical and business representatives *Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal *Demonstrated ability to analyze existing business functions and recommend alternatives with regard to tools and approaches to their use *Preferred technology experiences or familiarity in the following areas: *Mainframe systems *Web Services Architecture (experience with SOA a plus) *Application Server Technology *Security Services and Security Access Controls *Testing or Test Management Certifications from ASQ or QAI preferred Please refer to job code CHQAlead when responding to this ad.
