Our Ashland Aqualon Functional Ingredients (AAFI) commercial unit located at 1313 North Market Street, Wilmington, DE is looking to fill a Global Director, Marketing opening. The Global Director, Marketing will be responsible for the overall strategy within the business while working closely with the Vice Presidents and Technology team to drive new growth opportunities. They will work closely with Technology and Industry VPs to chart the future pipeline of new products and adjacencies to meet growth metric targets for the businesses and serve as a coach for the Marketing Managers and industry New Product Leaders. Critical activities include market segmentation; customer needs assessment, new product development opportunity identification, launch team management, strategic plan formulation and execution, and Senior Management interface. Successful candidates will have: *Bachelor of Science degree in technical field such as Chemical Engineering or Chemistry *MBA highly desirable *Marketing experience of 10-15 years *Must demonstrate strong technical ability *Excellent communications and business acumen skills *Ability to inter-relate effectively with senior management *Ability to work well under pressure *Deep knowledge of market segmentation methodology and in-depth segmentation experience *Significant product, market and industry experience in the area of responsibility *Knowledge of the industry technology and trends that will drive future customer needs *Experience in market and customer needs analysis *Ability to identify next generation product opportunities and demonstrated success in commercialization of new products *Authorized to work in the United States Ashland has a history of attracting the best people and keeping them.
