Seeking a candidate who can maintain and enhance search services, including multiple Google clusters, and other specialized data stores, indexes, and Web-based APIs. The candidate must demonstrate experience with Web standards, UNIX server environment, and scripting languages that are used to support and troubleshoot these systems. The candidate will maintain existing systems, enhance performance and increase stability as well as work on the future search applications. Participation in a variety of community forums and committees will be required to enhance collaboration and seek out forward-leaning search technologies. Responsibilities include: - Coding and implementation of various information technology solutions for the United States Intelligence Community. - Responsible for the integration of commercial and government search technologies into viable and scalable solutions. - Respond to user questions and comments via phone, email, and Web site comments. - Write documentation and provide training to assist users and site administrators. - Provide accreditation support with respect to system documentation and testing. - Balance operational, policy and information assurance requirements into effective and logical solutions. - Evaluate new search technologies and standards. Stay current with search technology trends and brief leadership on new technologies and approaches that could offer value to the Intelink environment. Design, plan, and conduct trials and pilots. Essential Job Functions - Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents highly complex programs. Develops complex test plans to verify logic of new or modified programs. - Designs systems and programs to meet highly complex business needs. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs are developed and coded. Creates appropriate documentation in work assignments such as program code, and technical documentation. - Gathers information from existing systems, analyzes program and time requirements. Assists project manager in preparing time estimates and justification for assigned tasks. - Supports project personnel in resolving fairly complex program problems. Works with client and management to resolve issues and validate programming requirements within their areas of responsibility. Provides technical advice on complex programming. - May serve as technical project lead; provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. Conducts quality assurance activities such as peer reviews. - Provides consulting services in a technical and/or managerial capacity to management and technical staff. May represent company in presentations or conferences involving customers, co-contractors, suppliers, competitors, academia or the public. REQUIREMENTS: A current high level government security clearance Required Skills: - Demonstrate experience designing and developing Web applications on Unix or Windows servers. - Familiarity with basic networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques, UNIX file systems and command line tools, and the various Web standards, including the HTTP protocol and HTML. - BS in computer science or equivalent experience. Desired Skills: - Experience with developing distributed systems using Perl, Python, CGI, PHP, Java, JavaScript, MySQL, XML, XSLT, HTML, XHTML, CSS and other web standards is desired. - Strong grasp of the Intelligence Community is a plus. Basic Qualifications - Bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and experience - Bachelors degree in computer science, mathematics or related field preferred - Nine or more years of programming or testing experience - Experience working with appropriate programming languages, operating systems and software - Experience working with relational databases to facilitate programming software Other Qualifications - Strong skills in programming - Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills - Strong analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs - Good leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel - Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members - Communication skills to work effectively with team members, support personnel, and clients - Ability to work as part of team and independently Fulcrum IT is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action Employer.
