Business Intelligence Architect will be responsible for the design of a holistic BI environment from data sourcing through to end-user applications. The BI Architect will leverage foundational skills and experience in enterprise data architecture to deliver high-value and high-performing BI solutions. This role will be involved at all levels of BI, from strategy to hands on development. The role is both a leader and contributor in a fast-paced, energetic and sometimes stressful environment. The successful candidate must be creative, resourceful, resilient, collaborative, self-starting and dedicated to exceptional enterprise business intelligence solutions providing meaningful business value.
· Responsibilities of this role will include (though not limited to):
· Ensure appropriate adoption of technology, methodologies & standards across the enterprise;
· Lead vendor and product evaluations of proposed new technology solutions;
· Gather requirements, design end-to-end solutions that are aligned with the Enterprise BI strategic direction and initiatives;
· Responsible for driving Business Intelligence maturity and data management practices;
· Ensure solutions are green, cool, and in support of a great user experience;
· Deliver the following types of BI solutions: ETL/ELT/EAI/EII, physical/logical data modeling (normalized and dimensional), reporting, OLAP, data mining, ad hoc analytics, meta data management, master data management, data cleansing, advanced analytics, and more.
Key responsibilities An outline of the key outcomes/deliverables that an individual will be held accountable for and the major activities/ tasks involved. Include the % of time spent on each responsibility. Total of percent should equal 100 %.
· Project Management. Deliver and maintain project plans, issues logs, and other required Project Management tools. Provide and facilitate a walk-thru of project documentation at required Stage Gates. Balance and manage resources (costs, people), time, and quality. Identify conflicts / issues and propose solutions to Manager.
· Business/Technology Process Analysis. Understand business needs, document requirements, and translate in to technology process and associated tools. Define data requirements.
· Technology Implementation. Implement proposed technology changes and solutions (install,configure, test, etc.). Automate processes and delivery of data required management reports and dashboards. Ensure technology tool/environment meets defined business requirements.
· Operations. Ensure the heath and operations of delivered solution(s). Embrace the IM principle of "continious imrpovement" identifying and proposing opportunities to improve the overall cost structure, quality, cycle time, capabilities. Ensure all controls and metrics are within defined parameters. Develop and deliver on an action plan for any observed issues.
· Business Relationship Management. Partner with functional area(s) to understand business problem/challenge. Devise solutions to solve and/or improve defined siutation.
