Sr Java Developer

Brief Description:
As a member of the Technology Team, the Senior Software Developer needs to be self motivated and comfortable working along side other highly skilled professionals in a fast paced environment.  They will participate in the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of multiple HMS applications, both internal and external.  Additionally, they will demonstrate technical expertise in several core technologies and actively share that knowledge with other developers.

Responsibilities Include:
• Contribute to the design of features for both new and existing systems
• Code critical and complex application components and frameworks
• Develop deep technical knowledge of multiple HMS applications, core technologies, and associated business processes
• Analyze application performance, make recommendations, and implement improvements
• Maintain and support multiple production applications
• Mentor Associate Software Developers
• Create and review software documentation
• Conduct code reviews
• Estimate and coordinate work with Development Manager and Technical Leads
• Participate in evaluation of new technologies and knowledge transfer
• Utilize test driven development methodologies and related engineering tools such as code coverage and analysis tools

Required Qualifications:
• J2EE experience including: EJB, Servlets, JSP, JMS, JDBC, and JAAS
• Experience with JUnit or equivalent
• Oracle, SQL, or similar RDBMS
• Linux or Unix experience
• Code editors and version control systems
• Experience with both OOA/D and design patterns
• 5 or more years industry experience building and maintaining enterprise level software applications using the above technologies

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience with Open-Source technologies including: JBoss, Tomcat, Hibernate, Struts, Ruby, Rails, Spring, and Maven
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent
• Knowledge of software development methodologies
• Experience working in a fast paced environment
• Strong communication and interpersonal capabilities
