More information about this job: Overview: Selected candidate will perform the role of a Project Scheduler and be responsible for a wide variety of duties to create and maintain detailed project schedule documentation while providing day-to-day support of a Program Management Office (PMO) that is assisting a Government client in the management of a large automation and modernization program. Responsibilities: Through the PMO, the Project Scheduler will assist in the timely, accurate, and effective planning, collection, formatting, dissemination, and storage of program and project schedule information. Specific responsibilities include the following: -Interpret guidance from oversight entities and ensure project adherence to organizational schedule-related regulations and policies -Responsible for estimating project activity times, sequencing those activities to optimize the guidance of a project through its life span from concept to completion -Produce comprehensive schedules in various formats and detail to suit different users or audiences -Analyze validity of schedules submitted by contractors contributing to the project -Work closely with the PMO EVM analyst to ensure that the schedule progress reflects the EVM numbers reported by the performing contractor; Monitor actual progress, compare to baseline and report progress against schedule; Analyze and report productivity and trends; and Forecast the impacts on schedule of proposed changes; Interface the schedule with the project budget -Train team members in best practices of scheduling and the use of the designated software (Primavera and MS Project) -Archive actual schedule achievements for estimating future similar projects -Support the generation of periodic activity reports and gathering of ad-hoc requirements for resource analysis, deliverable and work product analysis, and complex reporting -Assist in the development of presentations for briefings and executive presentations Qualifications: .Bachelors Degree or higher .Candidate must possess sound knowledge of the principals of project scheduling, business processes, and project management methodology .Candidate must be detail oriented and demonstrate a minimum of 8 years experience in project management support, with at least 5 years performing scheduling activities for complex projects in an IT environment .Knowledge of federal appropriations, regulations, and policies .Expertise with the MS Project Management scheduling tool .Working knowledge of the Primavera Project Management scheduling tool .Candidate must be willing to undergo a drug test, as well as be able to obtain, and maintain, a security clearance
