Retirement & Benefits Specialists are responsible for providing accurate and timely retirement and benefits counseling, assistance and guidance for employees considering retirement. Other Essential Responsibilities · Provide career transition counseling services for employees considering transitioning to a new line of work, either through interagency transfer, retirement or transition to private industry. · Provide assistance and explanations to individual staff in the areas of: * Retirement Counseling * Health Benefits * Life Insurance * Thrift Saving * Long Term Care Insurance * Flexible Spending * Service Deposits * Leave Benefits Job Requirements : * 3-5 years experience in Retirement and/or Benefits within the Federal Government * Working knowledge of OPM Guidelines * Ability to effectively communicate with employees verbally and through written correspondence.
