FTR Trader/Transmission Analyst

Title: FTR Trader/Transmission Analyst Location: NJ-Woodbridge Summary of Position Identify, create and optimize opportunities in the wholesale electricity markets for transmission products. Investigate and develop trading strategies that support the wholesale electric desk; provide risk mitigation and hedging strategies that optimize the wholesale electric book.  Create strategies to support positions in physical and financial basis markets with the objective of maximizing overall portfolio value. Support the analysis of related load flow studies to support trading and generation related opportunities.  Responsibilities -Staying abreast of ISO developments and FTR/TCC/ARR business rules in the ISO's in which Hess participates. -Participating and representing the company in ISO committees, as required to support Energy Marketing and Wholesale Electric Operations. -Responsible for analyzing all load flow and related transmission analyses to support Wholesale Electric Operations and Business Development. -Responsible for formulating and structuring bidding strategies in all FTR/TCC/ARR auctions. Bidding of INC/DEC contracts. -Provide analytical and trading support to Forward and Spot Desks on basis and congestion related opportunities. Identify transmission related issues that could impact current portfolio positions. -Bachelor's degree in engineering, physical sciences, mathematics, statistics or economics. BS in electrical engineering is preferred. -Five or more years of industry experience in the power sector such as a utility, ISO or consulting firm. Power trading experience preferred. -Knowledge of transmission operations as it relates to the pricing of transmission products in both the physical and financial markets. -Knowledge of transmission products, including FTRs, ARRs, TCCs, physical & financial basis products. -Self-starter with the ability to work effectively without direct supervision in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment. -Strong problem solving, and analytical skills. -Ability to function effectively and accurately under time constraints. -Proficient in Microsoft Excel and/or Access.
