Community Educator Department: Public Health Nursing & Education Schedule: Part-time (less than 20 hrs/wk) Shift: Days/Evenings Hours: 14.5 hours per week, variable schedule Job Details: - Bachelors degree is required - Certification Required - Experience is preferred Coordinates the activities needed to assure that the Hunterdon County Department of Health meets the New Jersey Department of Health standards for Community Health Education, and other public health initiatives. Coordinates actual program start-up by setting schedules, assuring adequate staffing, presenters, and overseeing production of purchasing program materials.Publicizes programs and public health concerns by working with health departments Public Information Officer, HMC public relations staff, and various community organizations.Keeps the PHNE Director informed of needs, concerns, and special problems related to Public Health Education.Works closely with other health educators and co-workers to assure efficient use of people and program resources.Designs education strategies and materials for the planned programs which meet goals and objectives. Bachelors Degree in public health, health education or related field required as well as experience in public health or health education. Must have valid drivers license and proof of car insurance & registration. CHES, Community Health Education Specialist required. Ability to teach children and adults in a clear manner. Knowledgeable in public speaking, group process, program development and evaluation, writing such as proposals and reports, and development and monitoring of budget strobgly preferred.
